C-A-V Charities
While we have enjoyed putting every great idea into "views" for all kinds of people and needs, the heart of Creataview, LLC is deeply devoted to the children. Even in the formation stages of this business we knew we would create a charity for them - somehow in some way. So it seemed only natural to create "Kiddiescapes" and to find children with terminal illnesses to give to, in hopes of providing a little escape from the daily pain or limitations they are made to endure... Because nothing should suppress the carefree joys and limitless imaginations of childhood.
Our Creataview, LLC Mission Statement sums it up perfectly: "To promote peace and joy within, by creating an environment that delights the spirit and brings hope and well-being."
Mariah - 12 years old – SLC, Utah
Mariah is 12 years old and was diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes (or Type 1) at the age of 6. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease in which the body's immune system attacks the cells that produce insulin, resulting in no or a low amount of insulin. People with type 1 diabetes must take insulin daily in order to live. A normal day for Mariah consists of checking her blood 12-15 times a day, giving herself shots of insulin every time she eats anything with carbohydrates (at least 6-8 times a day). A normal day for Mom is to worry that she her blood sugar level will not go so low that she will pass out. Since Mariah was diagnosed it seems that she has become “Mariah, with Diabetes”. We strive to have a normal life, however, Mariah is much more then “just normal”, she is extraordinary! Which is exactly why, when Kiddiescapes came to me with the gift of creating this room for Mariah, we jumped at the chance to let them. It is such a magical room and we are so grateful. Thank you Kiddiescapes! What a wonderful thing you are doing for children. - Tina Chumas, mother
“Having this room lets me escape and be a just a “normal kid”…not the kid with diabetes. Plus… all my friends really love it too.” - Mariah
